Daniel breaks records at Illinois State's Normal Invite

The Illinois State track and field team completed the Normal Invite at the Redbird Track & Field Complex. Sophomore Immaculate Daniel was a standout, breaking the school record twice in the women's 100m dash. Daniel initially set a new record during the heat races with a time of 11.39, then improved with an event-winning time of 11.33.

Junior Erin Starks and Senior Corrina Courser achieved top-10 times in the preliminaries of the women's 100m hurdles. Starks clocked in at 13.64, while Courser finished at 13.69. In the finals, Junior Macee Rivers joined with a top-10 time of 13.77.

The women's 4x100m relay team, comprising Starks, Flowers, Miller, and Daniel, also secured a top-10 time, now the fourth fastest in school history, finishing at 44.87.

Junior Enyinnaya Nwagwu Jr. made the top-10 in the men's 400m with a time of 46.82, placing him eighth all-time. Freshman Zach Paul achieved a personal best at 47.82.

Sophomore Jonathan Tegel won the men's 400m hurdles with a time of 55.24. On the women's side, Sophomore Cambria Geyer ran a season-best 1:04.72.

Senior Lindsey Miller won the women's 200m dash with a season-best of 23.86. Freshman Reece Curtis won the men's event with a personal best of 21.34.

Sophomore Garrett Taylor led in the men's discus with a throw of 54.74m, while Freshman Brianna Brodie achieved a personal best in the women's discus at 42.93m. Taylor also won the men's shot put with a mark of 16.32m.

Senior Kiley Sanders won the women's javelin with a 40.32m throw, and Senior Ariel Atias led the men's side with a 55.94m throw. Sanders also finished fourth in the women's high jump at 1.71m.

In women's long jump, Senior Athleigh Hamilton secured a win with a 5.61m mark. Senior Sean Hopkins claimed the men's long jump with 7.03m. Sophomore Alice Sotelo placed fourth in women's triple jump at 11.06m, while Junior Rob Pulliam placed third in men's triple jump at 14.86m.

In women's pole vault, Junior Karlie Stauder finished third at 3.60m. Junior Charles Cruse finished second in men's pole vault with a clearance of 5.17m.

Freshman Blake Oleson and Senior Ian Geisler finished fourth and fifth in men's 1500m. Junior Garrett Slack and Freshman Luke Barham finished third and fourth in men's 800m.

Freshman Will Gelon claimed second place in men's 3000m steeplechase with a time of 9:32.95. Senior Kevyere Mack placed second in men's 110m hurdles at 15.02. Freshman Harmony Brown completed the women's 400m with a season-best 58.69.
