Senior Ernie Waterson concluded a challenging week for the Illinois Wesleyan University men's and women's track and field teams with an impressive performance in the 800-meter run at the University of Illinois Fighting Illini Twilight. The event took place on Saturday, April 26, in Champaign, Illinois.
Competing in a highly competitive Division I field, Waterson was initially in seventh place after the first lap. He surged past three competitors to secure a fourth-place finish with a time of 1:53.01. This time marks the second-fastest in the conference this season.
Looking ahead, Illinois Wesleyan is preparing for the CCIW Championships, scheduled for Friday and Saturday, May 2-3, in Naperville, Illinois.
