NORMAL, Ill. – Illinois State University's men's basketball team has announced the addition of Landon Moore to its roster for the 2025-26 season. Head coach Ryan Pedon expressed enthusiasm about the new recruit.

"We are very excited to add Landon Moore to our basketball family," said Pedon. "We recruited Landon two years ago when he transferred to Butler, and we walked away impressed with both he and his family. He has great size, strength, and experience on the perimeter, and he has the ability to be a lock-down defender as well. Offensively, he will enhance our roster with his ability to play through the paint. He is strong, physical, and has a real knack for getting to the free throw line. I love how he complements our current roster and believe that his best basketball is still ahead of him."

Moore joins the Redbirds from Butler where he spent two seasons. During his time at Butler, he appeared in 68 games. Last season, he played in 35 games, started three times, and averaged 3.2 points per game. His notable performances included scoring 13 points against both Mississippi State and Georgetown and achieving a season-high of five assists in a game against Marquette.

In his sophomore year at Butler, Moore averaged 3.8 points per game. He recorded double figures four times, with two standout performances involving 14 points against Providence and Marquette. He also contributed 42 assists with 26 turnovers for the season.

Before Butler, Moore had a noteworthy freshman year at Saint Francis (Pa.), where he was named to the Northeast Conference All-Rookie Team. He was awarded the NEC Rookie of the Week seven times, a feat achieved by only six players in NEC history. Despite an injury reducing his game time, Moore held an average of 13.1 points per game, including a career-high 25 points against Miami (Fla.).

Moore completed his high school education at Western Reserve Academy, averaging 24.8 points and 5.0 assists per game. His high school tenure includes setting a school record with 114 three-pointers in a single season. Previously, at Bloomington High School, he averaged 18.2 points and 6.4 assists per game as a junior.

The Redbirds recently completed a successful season with a 22-14 overall record and secured the 2025 College Basketball Invitational title. The team is set to return key players next season, including All-MVC players Chase Walker and Johnny Kinziger, as well as Jack Daugherty, who gained recognition on the All-MVC Freshman and Bench squads.
