Senior Jacque O'Neill from Harbor Springs, Michigan, has been recognized as the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Women's Golfer of the Week. This announcement, made by the league office on Tuesday, April 29, marks her second career weekly honor. It is the sixth time this season that a player from Illinois Wesleyan University, known as the Titans, has received this accolade.
O'Neill contributed to her team's runner-up finish at the Cardinal Classic, conducted on April 21-22. Despite challenging weather conditions, she recorded scores of 76 and 79 at the Bolingbrook Golf Club, concluding the tournament with an aggregate score of 155. O'Neill finished in a tie for second place among 155 participants, which was her sixth top-five performance in her collegiate career.
The Illinois Wesleyan team, previous winners of the CCIW Championship in the fall, is preparing for the NCAA Division III Women's Golf Championship. The event will take place from May 13-16 at the Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg, Virginia.
