Following a strong performance at the Missouri Valley Conference Championship, the Illinois State men's golf team is preparing for the 2025 NCAA Urbana Regional. The event will take place from May 12 to May 14 at Atkins Golf Club in Urbana, Illinois.
The regional tournament features several nationally ranked teams, including Oklahoma State, North Carolina, and Illinois. Illinois State's lineup includes players TJ Barger, Alex McCulla, Will Troy, Pietro Pontiggia, and Max Faucquez.
Atkins Golf Club has undergone significant renovations since being gifted to the University of Illinois by The Atkins Family in 2020. These improvements have transformed it into a championship venue that hosts both men's and women's golf teams from the university.
This marks the fifth appearance for Illinois State in an NCAA Regional. Their last participation was in 2023 when they tied for tenth place at the NCAA Bath Regional hosted by Michigan State.
