Breanne Hall, the head coach of Illinois State University's women's golf team, has announced her resignation. She will be taking up a similar position at the University of Nebraska. ISU plans to start a nationwide search for her replacement immediately.
During her seven-year tenure, Hall led the Redbirds to three Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) titles and was named MVC Women's Golf Coach of the Year each time. Her teams have set numerous records in the program's history, including achieving 12 of the lowest tournament scores and 16 of the 17 lowest single-round scores.
Under Hall's leadership, individual golfers have also excelled. They hold seven of the eight lowest season stroke averages and eight of the ten most rounds at or under par in program history. This season, her team tied a school record by winning four tournaments: Redbird Invitational, Loyola Parkinson Family Invitational, Columbia Classic, and MVC Championship.
Hall coached several standout players during her time at ISU. Ali Schrock was named MVC Golfer of the Year in 2022; Jinyoung Yun received this honor in both 2024 and 2025. Maria Toledo Bailey was recognized as MVC Newcomer of the Year in 2021, while Morgan Jones earned this title in 2025. Elise Fennell was named MVC Freshman of the Year in 2025.
Three times during Hall's tenure, an ISU golfer was honored as MVC Scholar-Athlete of the Year: Schrock in 2022 and 2024, and Yun in 2025. The Redbirds secured fifteen First Team All-MVC honors under her guidance. Additionally, her golfers achieved three out of four lowest single-season scoring averages recorded in MVC history.
