Illinois State University's senior first baseman, Abby Knight, has received significant recognition for her performance in the 2025 softball season. Knight was named to the NFCA Division I All-Midwest Region First Team and joined three teammates on the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) Scholar-Athlete Team.
Knight is one of nine student-athletes from the MVC to be selected for an NFCA All-Region team, with only three being named to the first team. The other two are Belmont's Maya Johnson and UNI's Kate Lappe. The NFCA Division I All-America teams will be announced on May 28.
Abby Knight excelled as a key player for Illinois State, earning All-MVC First Team honors at first base. She maintained a .365 batting average in conference play, achieving 35 hits, scoring 15 runs, hitting four doubles and one home run, and driving in 13 runs. Defensively, she recorded a perfect fielding percentage with 211 putouts and three assists.
Joining Knight on the MVC Scholar-Athlete Team were Addison Masching, Delainey Bryant, and Hannah Meshnick.
