The Illinois Wesleyan University men's and women's track and field teams have announced the recipients of their 2025 team awards. The announcement took place at the team's banquet held earlier this spring, where seven Titans were honored.
Evan Lowder, a junior from Bloomington, Illinois, was named the men's team "Most Valuable Performer." On the women's side, sophomore Imani Ogunribido from Hanover Park and senior Carlyssa King from Decatur were voted "Co-Most Valuable Performer."
Lowder has earned MVP honors for three consecutive years following an impressive junior season. He participated in both indoor and outdoor NCAA Championships in the 400-meter event and secured First Team All-American status in both competitions. His achievements include setting new school records in multiple events such as the indoor 200m (21.87 all-conditions), indoor 400m (48.04), and outdoor 400m (46.55).
Ogunribido had a standout sophomore season that led to her being recognized as MVP after breaking several school records in triple jump events. She became an NCAA national champion with a record-breaking jump of 12.96 meters in the women's triple jump.
King concluded her senior year with notable accomplishments including participation in both indoor and outdoor NCAA Championships, setting two school records, and securing a CCIW Championship title in hammer throw.
Freshman Nick Walker from Metamora was awarded "Best Newcomer" for his performance at CCIW championships, winning high jump titles as well as contributing to a victorious relay team indoors.
Sophomore transfer Alex Reinhart received recognition as the women's team "Best Newcomer" due to her strong performances specializing in the 800m event.
Jordynn Griffin, a junior from Bloomington, along with freshman Jack Demakis from Crystal Lake received "Be At Your Best" awards for their contributions to their respective teams.
Team captains for the previous season included King, Griffin, Annalese Chudy from Libertyville, Adriana Crabtree from Normal on the women's side; while Lowder led alongside seniors Nick Fisch from Woodridge, Sam Okewole from Tinley Park, and Matthew Wagner from Normal for the men's team.
In total, 45 Titans received letters for their participation during the 2024-2025 season.
