A pair of free senior resource fairs are scheduled for next week in Morris and Pontiac, offering area seniors access to information and services. The events will be held on Monday, August 4 at Saratoga Elementary School in Morris and Wednesday, August 6 at the Pontiac Parks and Recreation Center. Both fairs will run from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Illinois State Representative Jason Bunting will join Senators Chris Balkema and Sue Rezin, along with Representative Jed Davis, to host the Morris event at Saratoga Elementary School, located at 4040 N. Division Street. The Pontiac fair will be co-sponsored by Sen. Balkema and Rep. Dennis Tipsword at the recreation center at 900 N. Elm Street.

Vendors from state and local government agencies as well as private organizations will provide information about resources available for seniors and their families. Free health screenings, refreshments, and door prizes will also be offered during both events. Legislators and staff members plan to be present to answer questions related to state government.

“These are great events with a wealth of helpful information. If you are able, I hope you will stop by!” said Rep. Bunting.

Bunting was elected as a Republican representative for Illinois' 106th House District in 2023, succeeding Thomas Bennett.
