Senior Expo hosted by Rep. Tipsword and Sen. Balkema set for August 6 in Pontiac

State Representative Dennis Tipsword Jr. and Senator Balkema will host a Senior Expo in Pontiac on August 6, 2025. The event is scheduled to take place at the Pontiac Parks and Recreation Center from 9 a.m. to noon. Admission is free, and refreshments will be provided at no cost. Free health screenings will also be available for attendees.

Organizers are also collecting donations for the Salvation Army to support community members in need. Items being accepted include personal hygiene products such as shampoo, conditioner, body wash, toothpaste, deodorant for both men and women, men's razors, hair brushes or combs, tampons, maxi pads, as well as bottled water, cereals, pasta (spaghetti or other noodles), jelly, and hydration packets like Liquid IV. Donations can be dropped off at the Pontiac District Office located at 305 W. Madison St., Pontiac.

Tipsword was elected to the Illinois State House in 2023 as a Republican representing the state's 105th House District after replacing former state representative Dan Brady.
