Analysis: Pontiac pays $2.86 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Pontiac Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 74 percent of the $416,821 the Pontiac Police Pension Fund brought in last year, or $2.86 for every $1 from pension members, according to a McLean County Times analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Pontiac contributed $308,389 to the fund, which saw a $4,419 decrease in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $107,747, or 25.8 percent, in 2016. Another $685 came from other unspecified sources.
