Mt Hope-Funks Grove Fire Protection District responded to 24 calls in 2017 - 29.4 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Mt Hope-Funks Grove included 18 fires - five structure fires, seven vehicle fires and six other fires. The fire department also responded to one call for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

In all, the department saw $114,000 in fire loss - or about $6,333 per fire.

The department also received five false calls.
