CITY OF BLOOMINGTON: October 1st Free Fall Bulk Waste Collection

Garbagecollection

City of Bloomington issued the following announcement on Sept. 13.

Bulk waste is collected as part of the City of Bloomington's Solid Waste Program. The Public Works department collects bulk waste placed at the curb twice per year at no additional charge. Bulk waste collection occurs each spring and fall.

The 2018 Fall Bulk Waste Collection will take place on October 1, 2018. Additional information is available here.

All bulk waste for the Free Fall Bulk Waste Collection must be placed at the curb by 6:00 a.m. on October 1st. Solid Waste Program users will not be charged for any amount of household bulk waste placed at the curb by this deadline.

After the Free Fall Bulk Waste Collection is complete (approximately 15 working days), Public Works crews will charge $25 per bucket (about 2.5 cubic yards) for household bulk waste and $100 per bucket for sod, dirt, concrete, rocks and shingles.

During the Free Fall Bulk Waste Collection, crews will collect brush at the same time as bulk waste, not on regular free brush collection days. Regular bi‐weekly free brush collection will resume after the Free Fall Bulk Waste Collection is complete.
