City of Bloomington issued the following announcement on Sept. 19.
To celebrate the Bloomington Parks, Recreation & Cultural Arts Department’s 50th Anniversary the department is opening Miller Park Beach from 2 – 5pm for sand volleyball fun. In addition to volleyball they will offer free hayrack rides around the park, lawn games, 50 cent paddle boats and mini-golf, and live music by Patrick Campbell.
From 2 – 5 PM in the Miller Park Pavilion the community will also have a chance to place their vote on their favorite photo from the 50th Anniversary Photo Contest. The winner of the contest will have their photo featured on the Winter/Spring 2019 Program Guide Cover.
At 3 PM a small recognition ceremony will be held in Miller Park Pavilion to commemorate 50 years and free cake and ice cream will be served. A full list of fun events happening at the celebration are listed below.
