McLean County Property Committee met September 6.

Here is the minutes provided by the committee:

Members Present: Chairman Paul Segobiano, Members: Scott Murphy, Don Cavallini, Jacob Beard and Ryan Scritchlow

Members Absent: Members Josh Barnett and Mark Johnson

Other Members Present: Members George Gordon, Catherine Metsker, Susan Schafer

Staff Present: William Wasson, County Administrator, Jessica Woods, First Assistant State’s Attorney – Civil Division; Eric Schmitt, Administrative Services Director; and Ms. Julie Morlock, Recording Secretary.

Department Heads/ Elected Officials Present: None

Others Present:

Chairman Segobiano declared a quorum and called the meeting to order at 5:07 p.m.

Chairman Segobiano presented the minutes from the August 2, 2018 regular meeting of the Property Committee for approval.

Motion by Scritchlow/Cavallini to approve the August 2, 2018 regular meeting minutes of the Property Committee.

Motion carried.

Chairman Segobiano confirmed there were no appearances by members of the public.

Mr. Wasson stated that there were no changes to employment in the last 30 days. Mr. Segobiano commented that he had spoken to a constituent about the vacancies at the Nursing Home and that it was a nationwide issue. Mr. Wasson confirmed that turn over in nursing is a nationwide issue. He pointed out that many do not see the retirement compensations offered by the county as a large benefit as they are not planning to stay in one position for a long period of time.

Chairman Segobiano presented bills from the Auditor as of September 3, 2018 in the amount of $367,040.47.

Motion by Scritchlow/Barnett to approve payments of the bills form the Auditor as of September 3, 2018 in the amount of $367,040.47.

Motion Carried

Chairman Segobiano recessed the meeting from the Boardroom to go on a tour of the Law & Justice Expansion Site at 5:18. The Committee reconvened at 5:25 at the project site. They toured the project including inmate communication, loading, kitchens, laundry, and control areas as well as detainment blocks.

A Motion was made by Scritchlow/Segobiano to adjourn the meeting. Motion Carried.

The September meeting of the Property Committee was adjourned at 5:50 p.m.
