City of Fairbury Planning Commission met Oct. 10.

The Planning Commission held a meeting at 12 Noon. Present were Chairman Rick Wilson, Members Ron Schlipf, Leroy McPherson, Tracy Taylor, Jeremy Leman, Mayor David Slagel and City Superintendent Brett Ashburn. Also in attendance were Alderman Bill Schmidgall and Planning Commission Secretary Stephanie Meints.
Motion by Taylor, second by McPherson to approve the September 12, 2018, minutes. Motion carried unanimously
Motion by McPherson, second by Schlipf to recommend to the City Council that Jack Tomlison and Lawrence Auto Body annex into the City. Motion carried unanimously.
The Planning Commission discussed the Steidinger cold storage facility. David Slagel stated that it would be contingent on the City being able to provide them water and sewer, and it has been decided that the cost is too great right now.
Knapp garage: Nothing to report
Crop Production has changed their name to Nutrien Ag. They are still in the process of building on their property west of town.
Rick Wilson asked about the City replacing the sidewalks on Third Street by the Walton Centre. It was concluded at this time the cost is far too great.
