Report: Prairie Central spent $10,761 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Prairie Central Community Unit School District 8 is up 11.2 percent from five years ago, according to a McLean County Times analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Livingston County school district spent $9,674 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $10,761 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 2144 to 1905.

Prairie Central's spending in 2017-18 was 19.3 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
