Village of Carlock Village Board met April 29.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

The meeting was called to order at 7:01 pm by Acting President, J. Holliger. Roll call was taken. Those present were trustees, R. Baer, R. Eaves, D. Geshiwlm, and J. Holliger. Clerk, M. Becker was also present. There were no visitors in attendance.

The pledge of allegiance was recited.

In new business, supplies needed for the Village cleanup day were discussed. The sport court will be removed and replaced with striping. New sand is needed in the horseshoe pits. Flowers will be purchased for the park. Food will be purchased to feed the volunteers. The projected cost of supplies was stated to be approximately $600.00. D. Geshiwlm made motion to approve up to $1000. Motion died with no second. J. Holliger stated White Oak Armament would donate the food cost. D. Geshiwlm made motion to approve supply cost up to $500.00, with food expense being donated. R. Baer seconded motion. Motion carried 4-0.

An estimate for tree removal was presented by TJ Blakeney Tree Service. Two ash trees in the park and one ash tree at the corner of Franklin and Perry Streets need removed. J. Holliger made motion to have all tree removed at a cost of $650.00. R. Baer seconded motion. Motion carried 4-0. The fire department members will clean the trees up during the cleanup day and TJ Blakeney will haul them away.

After review of the village streets, several areas are in need of sealing. The oil and chip project for 2019 will cost $27,000 from Motor Fuel funds. D. Geshiwlm made motion to approve contract and proceed with the project. R. Eaves seconded motion. Motion carried 4-0.

Roads at the Rock Creek Subdivision are in need of repair. A quote from McLean Asphalt was received for $6,534.00 to fill all cracks with hot applied rubberized crack filler. D. Geshiwlm made motion to approve quote and proceed with project. J. Holliger seconded motion. Motion carried 4-0.

The board discussed the hiring of a part-time water assistant. The human resources committee has interviewed two qualified candidates and will meet as a committee to discuss salary and offer. Recommendation for hire will be presented to the Board at the May meeting.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned. R. Baer made motion to adjourn. J. Holliger seconded motion. Motion carried 4-0. Meeting adjourned at 7:50pm.
