City of Lexington issued the following announcement on Feb. 9.
There is a parking ban in effect on all streets when 2 inches or more of snow is predicted. The streets need to be kept clear for snowplows.
The Police Department is authorized by City Ordinance 2003-3 to write parking tickets in order to keep the streets clear for City workers when snowfall is predicted. Each violation is subject to a fine of up to $25.
