Analysis: Pontiac pays $5.05 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Pontiac Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 83.5 percent of the $441,743 the Pontiac Firefighters Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $5.05 for every $1 from pension members, according to a McLean County Times analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Pontiac contributed $368,745 to the fund, which saw a $22,508 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $72,949, or 16.5 percent, in 2018. Another $49 came from other unspecified sources.
