Analysis: Normal pays $3.16 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Normal Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 76 percent of the $2,733,987 the Normal Police Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $3.16 for every $1 from pension members, according to a McLean County Times analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Normal contributed $2,077,372 to the fund, which saw a $342,307 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $656,565, or 24 percent, in 2018. Another $50 came from other unspecified sources.
