Analysis: Normal pays $3.36 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Normal Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 77.1 percent of the $2,293,553 the Normal Firefighters Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $3.36 for every $1 from pension members, according to a McLean County Times analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Normal contributed $1,767,964 to the fund, which saw a $220,865 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $525,589, or 22.9 percent, in 2018.
