Analysis: Bloomington pays $4.59 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Bloomington Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 82.1 percent of the $6,612,212 the Bloomington Police Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $4.59 for every $1 from pension members, according to a McLean County Times analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Bloomington contributed $5,429,839 to the fund, which saw a $550,849 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $1,182,348, or 17.9 percent, in 2018. Another $25 came from other unspecified sources.
