Analysis: Bloomington pays $5.32 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Bloomington Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 84.2 percent of the $5,789,630 the Bloomington Firefighters Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $5.32 for every $1 from pension members, according to a McLean County Times analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Bloomington contributed $4,873,683 to the fund, which saw a $300,603 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $915,947, or 15.8 percent, in 2018.
