Mt Hope-Funks Grove Fire Protection District responded to 17 calls in 2018 - 29.2 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Mt Hope-Funks Grove included 12 fires - three structure fires, four vehicle fires and five other fires. The fire department also responded to one call for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

In all, the department saw $289,350 in fire loss - or about $24,113 per fire.

The department also received four false calls.
