Colfax Fire District responded to 18 calls in 2018 - 28.6 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Colfax included 17 fires - 11 structure fires, one vehicle fire and five other fires.

In all, the department saw $361,000 in fire loss - or about $21,235 per fire.

The department also received one false call, including one malicious call.
