Fairbury Rural Fire Protection District responded to 48 calls in 2018 - 54.8 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Fairbury Rural included 41 fires - 21 structure fires, four vehicle fires and 16 other fires.

The department also received seven false calls.

The Fairbury Rural Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $28,059 in 2018.
