Reynolds was formally charged on Oct. 8, and according to the charges alleged, the crime occurred during the month of May of 2019.

School District Superintendent Gary Tipsord confirmed that a teacher was placed on paid administrative leave following allegations of "inappropriate communication" with a student earlier this month, after Reynolds was arrested, but Tipsord did not identify the teacher by name.

Reynolds’ next scheduled court date is Dec. 3.

"At this point, the accusations are nothing more than a piece of paper, they still must be proven,” said Reynolds’ attorney, Josh Rinker, according to the report.

“Today we argued against the allegations brought against our client and we will continue to do so. We are at the beginning stages of a lengthy process and don't believe that cases should be tried in the court of public opinion," he said
