The first batch of the COVID-19 vaccine has been distributed throughout much of the nation. Illinois State Rep. Dan Brady (R-Bloomington) believes it is the best path to take towards reopening Illinois.

Brady said in a press release issued by his office on Dec. 15, that Gov. J.B. Pritzker’s coronavirus response has done nothing to stop the spread.

“While it’s clear that the Governor’s heavy-handed approach to Coronavirus was not ultimately effective for stopping the spread of the virus, the beginning of vaccinations gives us new hope,” Brady said.

The lawmaker added that voluntary vaccination will serve as the best form of protection from the illness for the elderly and other high-risk individuals.

“I’m done looking in the rearview mirror. We need to look forward, and I believe the vaccine unveiled today in Peoria provides us a new opportunity for recovery and healing," Brady said.
