Lincoln College Normal issued the following announcement on July 7
Lincoln College’s Alumni Reunion will resume in-person festivities for events held on the Lincoln campus July 30-31. All Lincoln College alumni and friends are welcome to attend the reunion weekend.
Events are scheduled to begin Friday, July 30, with the Annual Lynx Golf Classic at the Lincoln Elks Golf Club. The golf outing and awards presentation is a major athletic fundraising event for Lincoln College Athletics. Golfers will play the morning or afternoon sessions. Morning session registration begins at 7:00 a.m. with a shotgun start at 7:45 a.m. Afternoon session registration begins at 11:00 a.m. with a shotgun start at 12:30 p.m. Lunch is provided for all golfers from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Following the afternoon session, dinner will be provided in the Lincoln Center on campus. The reception begins at 5:30 p.m. with dinner and awards at approximately 6:00 p.m.
Other Friday events available to visitors include guided campus tours, a Logan County Route 66 Tour, and a Meet & Greet at the Lincoln Heritage Museum Atrium at 4:30 p.m., which will include light hors d’oeuvres and wine.
Saturday, July 31, events include pastries with the President, guided campus tours, new exhibits and tours at the Lincoln Heritage Museum, a special historic Lincoln bus tour, and the Alumni Dinner & Awards Program.
The Alumni Dinner & Awards Program will begin at 5:00 p.m. with a cocktail reception. This year’s honorees include Steve Isenstein ’70, Ann (Beaver) Wolpert ’84, Robert W. Rang ’71, Celia “Cees” (Harmon) Jeckel ’64, and Linda Armstrong.
Due to cancellations as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, classes celebrating their 25th, 50th, 70th, and 75th anniversaries in 2020 and 2021 will receive special recognition and an official LC Swarovski crystal alumni pin at the dinner.
“We are very excited about combining the Annual Lincoln College Golf Classic with alumni weekend this year! After having to postpone or cancel events in 2020 due to the pandemic, we’re really looking forward to seeing everyone for a weekend filled with lots of great activities,” said Vice President for Institutional Advancement, Debbie Ackerman.
The Lincoln College Bookstore and Scott Joslin Fitness Center will be open and available to visitors.
