McLean County Property Committee met Jan. 6.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

The Property Committee of the McLean County Board met at 4:45 p.m. in Room 400 of the Government Center Building, 115 E. Washington Street, Bloomington, Illinois.

Members Present: Chairman Josh Barnett, Members Gerald Thompson, Shayna Watchinski, and George Wendt

Members Absent: Members Jim Rogal and Lyndsay Bloomfield

Other Members

Present: None

Staff Present: Cassy Taylor,County Administrator; Cathy Dreyer, Assistant County Administrator; Julie Morlock, Recording Secretary; Samantha Vasquez, Assistant State’s Attorney – Civil Division

Department Heads/Elected Officials Present: Tim Daugherty, Facilities Management; Michael Steffa, Parks & Recreation

Others Present: None

Chairman Barnett called the meeting to order at 4:45 p.m. and declared a quorum.

Chairman Barnett presented for approval the Property Committee December 2, 2021 regular meeting minutes, November 16, 2021 special meeting minutes and the Bills and Transfers.

Motion by Thompson/Watchinski to approve the Property Committee December 2, 2021 regular meeting minutes, November 16, 2021 special meeting minutes and the Bills and Transfers.

Motion Carried.

Chairman Barnett confirmed with Ms. Taylor there were no appearances by members of the public or County employees.

Mike Steffa, Director of the Parks and Recreation Department presented his monthly report to the Committee. He stated the pumping project at the sewage treatment plant went well. Mr. Barnett asked when they felt it would need to be done again. Mr. Steffa indicated company recommended every 10-15 years and further noted price would be less if there is less work to be done. Mr. Thompson stated he wanted to make sure they considered cost when project was considered again. Chairman Barnett asked if there were any questions; hearing none, he thanked him.

Tim Daugherty, Facilities Management Director presented his monthly report and noted the Animal Shelter reconstruction continued to go well and they would probably need to replace a 20-year-old water heater in the Law and Justice Center that had been leaking. Mr. Daugherty also noted the project timeline table in the packet. Mr. Barnett noted a couple of items moved to 2022 from 2021. Mr. Barnett asked if patch work had been done at the Metcom parking lot as it noted it was not scheduled for repair until October. Mr. Daugherty confirmed patch work had been completed and October was date tentatively entered on the chart as that would be after busy season for the Highway who would be performing the work. Chairman Barnett asked if there were any questions; hearing none, he thanked Mr. Daugherty.

Cassy Taylor, County Administrator, presented for action a request to approve a Parking Space Rental Agreement with Station Two Twenty, Inc. d/b/a Epiphany Farms Restaurant and Anju Above. Ms. Taylor noted while City does the parking enforcement, the County maintains the lot which is why they were bringing the request to the County. She went over area requested and indicated it would not affect other tenants.

Motion by Wendt/Watchinski to recommend approval of a Parking Space Rental Agreement with Station Two Twenty, Inc. d/b/a Epiphany Farms Restaurant and Anju Above.

Motion Carried.

Ms. Taylor indicated she had nothing further for the Committee today. Chairman Barnett asked if anyone had any other questions for Ms. Taylor, hearing none, he thanked her.

Under other business Mr. Barnett noted possible time change for the regular meetings of this Committee.

Chairman Barnett asked if there was any other business to come before the Committee; hearing none, he adjourned the meeting at 4:59 p.m.
