Dr. Jancek held the first reading of IASB PRESS Plus Policy Update recommendations for both Boards. The Boards have already decided that they will not be approving Policy 6:60 Curriculum Content, which deals with new standards for sex education in schools. These updates will be brought back to the next meeting for approval.

Dr. Jancek presented the proposed 2022-23 school calendar for approval. This calendar closely mirrors the Pontiac school calendar so that we may line up our students with LACC and LCSSU services.

Moved by Ellis, seconded by Bowman, for the GS to approve the 2022-23 school calendar as presented. Roll call. All voted aye. Motion carried.

Moved by Sulzberger, seconded by Berta, for the HS to approve the 2022-23 school calendar as presented. Roll call. All voted aye. Motion carried.

Dr. Jancek made a recommendation to continue with our current mitigation plans regarding the use of PPE, social distancing when possible, COVID testing when applicable, and other measures to keep in- person learning possible. He recommends that decisions on masks should be made by the individual student or their parents, so he proposes that we still recommend the use of masks, but that staff and students may go mask optional at this time. The only exception to this recommendation is when students and staff are on District transportation, where masks are federally mandated.

Moved by Ellis, seconded by Hansen, for the GS to approve the recommendation of the Superintendent on mask mandates, as presented. Roll call. All voted aye. Motion carried.
