In a recent Facebook post, state Rep. Dan Brady (R-Bloomington) expressed appreciation to Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White for his commitment to the citizens of the state.
"Thank you Secretary White for your commitment to the people of Illinois!" Brady said in the post. He also shared a link to a news release on his website where he elaborated on the event.
“I was honored to join the Islamic Organization of greater Chicago as they honored Secretary of State Jesse White with their Illinois Lifetime Achievement Award at the Palmer House in Chicago," Brady said in the release. "The award and the ceremony recognized the many accomplishments of our 37th S.O.S. Jesse White. Congratulations Mr. Secretary and thank you for your dedicated public service!”
The mission statement of the Islamic Organization is to unify Islamic groups in the greater Chicago area and to enrich American culture with their presence.
White has been in the news recently for extending driver's license, ID card and permit deadlines into December; a news release from the secretary's website said. He also recently awarded more than $627,000 in Project Next Generation grants to 30 public libraries across the state in support of the mentoring program.
