Village of Downs Events Committee met June 14.
Here are the minutes provided by the committee:
1. Call to Order At 6:09 PM
2. Roll Call
a. Stephanie Adkission, Jill Kasprzak, Ken Kasprzak, Randy Wert, Julie James, Mike James – Present at Hall, Cyndi Miller and Steve Miller – Present on Zoom
b. Mel Pilchard – absent
c. Jr Mayor – Jayden Jordine present

4. Discussion
a. Digital Sign
1. Talked about the bids received so far.
2. Seems like the bids for 10 mm are coming in at $30k
3. Ken will help put together a comparison
4. Still need to put together a list of what we need/want
b. Freedom Run – Mel wasn’t present, but Stephanie reported she has seen activity on FB
c. 4th of July
1. Junction 51 and Table for 2 are the bands for the night
2. Fireworks are good to go – have all permissions signed from FD and Village
3. Looking for the envelopes and stuff for door-to-door collections
4. Donation letters are going out tomorrow for business sponsorships – Stephanie
5. Talking to Bert about doing raffles – FFA and/or CIA
6. The Station Saloon will be selling food at the park – asked about giving token for free drink. 10% donation
7. Snow Biz will be here, but he is transition to his family
8. Battle of the bands will have setup sound system and drums to eliminate the setup time
1. Play 2 songs or more each
2. Going to get trophies
9. Waiting for the cost for the banner that they are going to use for the
10. Talked about a sensory trailer for next year and she thinks it will benefit St Jude.
11. Looking for 8 vendors for next year
12. Vball & Bball Tourney will be held as usual
13. Bags tourney on 7/3 to benefit a local person is great
14. Talked about Grand Marshal and need for magnet and car
15. Talked about other miscellaneous items for the 4th
d. Haunted House
1. Melton will move trailers
2. Randy needs to get his security
3. Janice & Danny went to midwest haunters
1. Bought about $1500 of Bones and costumes
2. Need to make sure they get back to HH
4. Talked about the app
5. Randy found a new firepit pan
e. Storage Containers
1. Back to square one on the storage
2. Talked about spray foam and a/c unit
