City of LeRoy Project Committee met Aug. 15.
Here are the minutes provided by the committee:
The meeting was called to order at 6:00 PM. Council members present were Mayor Dean, Patti Welander, Justin Morfey, Dawn Hanafin, Matt Steffen, and Ron Legner.
Staff members present were David Jenkins and Anita Corso.
The committee meeting was called to discuss the options for a TIF district.
Dave began with an overview of the current proposed area and timeline. Discussion included expanding the TIF district to include the 17 acres of City owned property as well as the empty lots on Persimmon Drive.
Also discussed were incentive options for prospective business using TIF funds versus Business District funds. Options of targeted TIF were considered as well as a residential TIF.
The recommendation was to move forward with the TIF district with the expanded area.
Motion was made by Patti and seconded by Matt to end the committee meeting. Roll call: Patti Welander-yes, Dawn Hanafin-yes, Matt Steffen-yes, Ron Legner-yes, Justin Morfey-yes. Motion passed; 5 yeas, 0 nay. Meeting adjourned at 6:50p.m.
