City of Pontiac Planning & Zoning Board met Feb. 27.

The City of Pontiac Planning and Zoning Board held a meeting on Monday, February 27, 2023, at 4:30 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers to consider the following:

All Right Sign, petitioner, requests a variance to allow an internally illuminated sign rather than a non-illuminated sign as required by Table 7.06.1. Table 7.06.1 affirms that internally illuminated signs are not permitted in the B-2 Central Business District. The legal description is as follows: Lots 3 & 4 EXCEPT E80’ of Lot 3 on Block 45 of the Pontiac Original Town Subdivision, with a common address of 422 W. Howard St. in Pontiac, Illinois.

The following members were present: Rick Baier, Paul Giordano, Pat Martin, Tim Fogarty, and Matt Stock. Tim Lewis and Bill Abraham were absent. Also present were David Wilson from the Building and Zoning office, Erin Livingston, representing All Right Sign, and Jenny Martin, audience member. With a quorum being present, the meeting began at 4:30 p.m.

Rick Baier made a motion to approve the minutes from the February 13, 2023 meetings and with a second from Pat Martin and a unanimous yes vote, the minutes were approved. Ms. Livingston stated that the sign will be off after business hours, and with no further discussion from the Board, Matt Stock made a motion to City Council to recommend approval for the variance. With a second from Tim Fogarty and a unanimous yes vote, the motion was approved. Paul Giordano abstained from the vote.

With no further discussion, Pat Martin made a motion to adjourn the meeting and with a second from Rick Baier and a unanimous yes vote from the Board, the meeting was adjourned at 4:31 p.m.
