Village of Gridley Village Board met March 6:

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Gridley was held at the Village Hall on Monday, March 6, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. President Benedict opened with a word of prayer.

President Benedict called the meeting to order and directed the Clerk to call roll, and upon roll call, the following Trustees answered present: Michael Finck, Richard Martin, Keri Hany, Jay Kiefer, and Mick Finck. Absent was: Susan Laiming. Quorum present. Employee Mark Peterson was also present.

Jeff asked if there were any corrections or additions to the February meeting minutes. There were none. Michael made a motion to approve the minutes and Keri seconded the motion. Roll call: Michael Finck-yea, Martin-yea, Hany-yea, Kiefer-yea, Mick Finck-yea. All present voted in the affirmative. Motion carried.

Board reviewed the “Bills received by Clerk.” There were no additions. Michael made a motion to approve the bills and Jay seconded the motion. Roll call: Michael Finck-yea, Martin-yea, Hany-yea, Kiefer-yea, Mick Finck yea. All present voted in the affirmative. Motion carried.

Board reviewed the Treasurer’s Report. After discussion, Mick made a motion to approve the Treasurer’s Report and Richard seconded. All present answered in favor.

Jay presented Colleen Whisker’s budget request for flowers and plants this year. Colleen requested $800. After discussion, and considering the probable increase in costs, Jay made a motion to approve up to $1,000 for flowers and plants. Michael seconded. Roll call: Michael Finck-yea, Martin-yea, Hany-yea, Kiefer-yea, Mick Finck-yea. Motion carried.

Jay reported that Colleen asked if she can start gardening on April 1, 2023 and work until October 1, 2023. Jay made a motion to approve Colleen working these dates. Mick seconded. Roll call: Michael Finck-yea, Martin-yea, Hany-yea, Kiefer-yea, Mick Finck-yea. All present voted in the affirmative. Motion carried.

Jay reported that the 2003 pickup truck used in the summer to pull mowers, etc. needs to be replaced or repaired. After discussion, board determined to have Friedman’s assess the vehicle to see what the repair costs would be before any decision is made.

Mick made a motion to adjourn. Michael seconded. Roll call: Michael Finck-yea, Martin-yea, Hany-yea, Kiefer yea, Mick Finck-yea. All present voted in the affirmative. Motion carried.
