Town of Chatsworth Board of Trustee met April 25.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

Official proceedings of the Board of Trustee’s, Town of Chatsworth, held in the Town council room at 7:00PM

Roll call showed the following present: Trustee Price, Nelson, Bell, Schroen, Cavanagh, and Harn. Also, present: President Runyon, Clerk Meyer, Treasurer Dassow, Attorney Coleman, Superintendent Harn and Mogged. Absent: Chief Cavanagh, Officer Dean, and Heather Tatro.

A motion by Trustee Bell and seconded by Trustee Nelson to approve the agenda. Board of Trustee vote: 6 Yeas

A motion by Trustee Nelson and seconded by Trustee Bell to approve the minutes from the previous regular board meeting. Board of Trustee vote: 6 Yeas

Attorney Coleman reported having 5 ordinance violators from the first sector going to court. Old Business

New Business

A motion by Trustee Cavanagh and seconded by Trustee Bell to sell 507 & 509 Locust Buildings for the amount of $4000. Board of Trustee roll call vote: Trustee Harn-Yea, Trustee Nelson-Yea, Trustee Cavanagh-Yea, Trustee Bell-Yea, Trustee Price-Yea, and Trustee Schroen-Yea.

A motion by Trustee Bell and seconded by Trustee Cavanagh to give part-timer Ulitzsch a pay increase of $2 per hour and Tatro $1 per hour. Board of Trustee vote: 6 Yeas

A motion by Trustee Harn and seconded by Trustee Bell to purchase a new locator in the amount of $959.95 plus shipping. Board of Trustee vote: 6 Yeas

A motion by Trustee Cavanagh and seconded by Trustee Harn to have Sealtite repair roofs at 318 & 326 E Locust in the amount of $1,427.44. Board of Trustee vote: 6 Yeas

President Runyon reported having Heather Tatro help him with the rental ordinance. In order to be compliant, he’s set a deadline as of May 31st, 2023. Reported approving locust block 500 being closed Saturday May 6th for Bikers with Big Hearts.

Treasurer Dassow asked the board of Trustees if they liked or thought the reports she’s been providing are helpful; they all agreed they were helpful. Also reported working with Clerk Meyer to get ready for the auditor for the end of fiscal year 2023.

Trustee Cavanagh reported being pleased with having sold 2 buildings and fixing 2 roofs.

Trustee Schroen reported working with Gene May on getting a date for spring cleanup; looking at May 12th or 19th. Trustee Price reported Officer Dean will be graduating on the 28th and hoping to have him on his on June 1st.

Superintendent Harn reported flushing hydrants among working to fix all the water main leaks and still trying to get the copper/lead lines figured out. He also questioned where we stand with the grants/projects for the Locust St, water, and sewer. Mayor Runyon reported not receiving funding for the street scape at this time and the water and sewer project are on track.

Clerk Meyer reported getting more meters in and Superintendents getting some changed out. Also reported having some training for antenna read meters for May 9th.

Public Input:

Wayne Shols questioned why the increase in golf cart stickers. The Trustees informed him it was to cover administrative cost. He also questioned the barking dog ordinance and the fire burning ordinances. The Trustees made him aware of complaint forms at the office and to call nonemergency 911.

Lana Bell questioned the rail for the entrance at the old Dr office and asked for it to be moved in front of Anita’s which the Mayor said was fine.

Carolyn Barrett questioned the sidewalk crossing for CAPs (not completed), the tracks getting fixed (locust&7th), and motorized bikes (driving around).

Chief Gerdes reported looking into ESDA since taking over as Chief and is questioning if the Town Trustees are wanting the Fire department to take it over or if they will continue to collect the tax revenue and run it. Mayor Runyon told him that they needed to sit down with Trustee Schroen and set something up.

A motion by Trustee Bell and seconded by Trustee Cavanagh to pay the bills. Board of Trustee vote: 6 Yeas

A motion by Trustee Bell and seconded by Trustee Harn to adjourn the meeting at 7:46PM.
