Chief Cavanagh reports that Officer Dean has graduated from the Police Academy, and has his Certificate. Officer Dean was then officially sworn in by Chief Cavanagh in the presence of the Board of Trustees.

President Runyon reported having many limbs and trees down, creating lots of extra work for Superintendents Harn and Mogged, and recognized their efforts in getting the town cleaned up and back to normal.

Trustee Schroen reported he and Gene May have set a date for Spring/Summer cleanup; June 15-16th, 2023. He also reported attending a Legion Meeting where they discussed their potential role as a storm shelter for the town.

Trustee Nelson thanked Superintendents Harn and Mogged for their clean-up efforts. He is also looking at pricing for park swings and trash cans, citing that littering and overflowing garbage cans at the park may be addressed with the addition of more cans around the courts.

Trustee Price welcomed Officer Dean officially, and wants to schedule a committee meeting soon. He also thanked Superintendents Harn and Mogged for their storm clean up.

Superintendent Harn reported after doing some research, that under Title 35, subsection 604-55, it is required by law that we have generators for the wells in the event of a power outage. Our water tower cannot sustain the needs of the Town for any real duration. It is agreed upon by the board that they need to be purchased, and Superintendent Harn will get quotes to add the purchase vote to a future agenda. Trustee Nelson suggests we go ahead and purchase them, and then use grant monies to later purchase backups. President Runyon suggests that perhaps we could use Civil Defense Funds to purchase said Generators. Superintendent Harn further reports that Forrest has offered us the use of one of their PTO Generators in the interim, and he would also like to thank President Runyon and Trustee Price for coming out to help them in the immediate wake of last weekend’s storm.

Public Input:

Angel Sanders presented a petition to the Board requesting that the swing set be removed from the Memorial Pond due to it being unsafe in her opinion. She was advised that it was extremely unlikely the Board would agree to such a change, but she was welcome to submit her petition.

Michelle Schramm requested the board grant her the ability to install a 10’ privacy fence in her backyard, she was advised to fill out a permit request and that a Zoning Committee meeting would have to be held to make said determination.

Carolyn Barnett asked about the house on Beech & 5th, and if they will be made to clean up their yard. She was advised they are on the list.

A motion by Trustee Harn and seconded by Trustee Nelson to pay the bills. Board of Trustee vote: 5 Yeas

A motion by Trustee Cavanagh and seconded by Trustee Harn to adjourn the meeting at 7:35PM. Board of Trustee vote: 5 Yeas
