Rep. Darin LaHood (R-Ill.) will be the special guest at the McLean County Republican Party Annual Summer Picnic on Sunday, August 13 at 4 p.m. at the Hesed House in Heyworth, Ill.
"We're so excited to bring our party together for our Annual Summer Picnic," said Dennis Grundler, McLean County GOP Chairman, in a statement. "The event will allow supporters of our party to enjoy a day of family fun at a beautiful venue with great food and cold drinks."
"I encourage all McLean County residents that share our party's values to join us on that special day," said Grundler.
LaHood, who represents Illinois' 16th Congressional District, will join additional local Republican elected officials at the event.
Hesed House is located on 54 acres of land, approximately 12 miles south of Bloomington near the southern edge of McLean County. LaHood's district stretches from Eastern McLean County to the Wisconsin border in the North and the Mississippi River in the East. He represents 21 counties in total across central and northwestern parts of Illinois, including Peoria, Winnebago and Jo Daviess counties.
The event will feature outdoor fishing and games, and Prairie Fire Grill of Heyworth will provide food for the event.
