Village of Cullom Board of Trustees met June 27.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

Mayor Hahn called the June 27, 2023 Regular Meeting of the Cullom Village Board to order at 7:00 p.m. at the Village Hall.

Members Present: Hahn, Flessner, Mills, Krause, Jehle and Rock

Absent: J. Meister and K. Meister

Also Present: Lovell, Attorney Mary Ludwig and Tammy Berens

Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag: All present took part in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag

Minutes: Motion to accept, by consent agenda, the May 23, 2023 Regular Meeting minutes was made by Mills/Jehle - M/C

Public: None addressed the board

Attorney Report: Motion was made to hire Attorney, Mary Ludwig by Krause/Rock. M/C

A discussion on village issues was held at this time to bring Attorney Ludwig up to date on village litigations and concerns

Maintenance Report:

  • Mulch was added on flowers and bushes on Main St
  • Water main valves have been exercised
  • A bid was received from Pilot Construction for street repairs to E. Van Alstyne St in front of the high school. Hahn will contact the school to see if they will help to pay some of the expense
  • EPA Lead/Copper testing was discussed
Clerk Report: Rock/Mills made the motion to pay the monthly bills totaling $193,629.91. M/C by voice vote

Treasurer Report: Krause/Mills made the motion to accept the Treasurer Report

Old Business: .

  • Water Tower - Work is progressing on a steady pace
  • Un-sewered Community Grant - No Report
  • Property Liens and Abandoned Properties - Discussion held with Attorney Ludwig 
  • 120 Water Contract has been received and bill shown on the June bill sheet for payment
  • S. Ash St Extension-Property Purchase - Discussed with Attorney Ludwig
  • Radar Signs Signs have been received and Lovell will install
  • Appropriations - Hahn presented the board with the appropriation amounts for their review
  • Ordinance Violations - No report
New Business:

  • Selection of Trustee - Hahn appointed Tammy Berens to fill the position vacated by Wallrich
  • GIS Seat with Livingston County Assessor - Rock/Jehle made the motion to subscribe at a cost of $500 per year. All voted in favor and M/C
  • Iron/Manganese Filtration System Loan - awarded by the state in a forgivable loan of $1.4 million dollars. Bid will be let this fall
Any Other Business:

  • A resident has asked about the town installing a pickle ball court in the village 
  • EPA has requested another Cross Connection Survey to be done
Meeting adjourned at 8:15 pm
