Village of Cullom Board of Trustees met July 25.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

Mayor Hahn called the July 25, 2023 Regular Meeting of the Cullom Village Board to order at 7:00 p.m. at the Village Hall. 

Members Present: Hahn, Flessner, Mills, Krause, Jehle, J. Meister, K. Meister and Rock 

Absent: None 

Also Present: Lovell and Tammy Berens 

Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag: All present took part in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag 

Minutes: Motion to accept, by consent agenda, the June 27, 2023 Regular Meeting minutes was made by Mills/Jehle - M/C 

Public: None addressed the board 

Attorney Report: Attorney Ludwig addressed the board through Facetime about the sale to Belltown Farms. Belltown has accepted the changes we asked and is waiting for their questions to be answered concerning Livingston County requirements. Ludwig also reported that Attorney Gabor has not sent the requested files to her office. She will contact him further 

Maintenance Report: 

  • Started trimming trees over roads and alleys 
  • A hole on Cherry St has been repaired 
  • Garbage dumpsters have been ordered for the Cullom Celebration and Ameren has been contacted to turn on electricity to two sites 
  • Mulch will be added to the playground before the fair 
  • Poles for the radar signs have been installed 
  • A picnic table at the park has been vandalized and repaired 
  • A Maple tree at the park has been vandalized and two limbs were removed 
  • Tri Point School has agreed to share the cost of repairing the area in front of the school. Krause/Rock made the motion to share the cost and do the repairs. All voted in favor by voice ballot 
  • Letters will be going out soon to residence identified to collect lead/copper samples 
  • Culvert behind Casey's was discussed 
  • Removing Walnut trees at the site of the new water tower was discussed 
Clerk Report: Rock/Jehle made the motion to pay the monthly bills totaling $448,235.21. M/C by voice vote 

Treasurer Report: Rock/J. Meister made the motion to accept the Treasurer Report. The board agreed to start using Quick Book checks starting at the next meeting 

Old Business: . 

  • Water Tower - Painting has started 
  • Un-sewered Community Grant - No Report 
  • Property Liens and Abandoned Properties - No Report 
  • Farm Property Sale - See Attorney Report 
  • S. Ash St. Extension - On hold until Belltown Farms sale is completed 
  • Radar Signs - See Maintenance Report 
  • Appropriations _ Motion to accept the Appropriations as presented at the last meeting 
  • was made by Rock/Mills. All voted in favor by voice votes 
  • Iron Tank Application - Moving along 
Installation of Trustees: 

Appointed Trustee; Tammy Berens and Elected Trustees; Mills and Krause were installed by Mayor Hahn 

New Business: 

  • Park Vandalism - Discussion was held and further investigation will take place 
Any Other Business: 

  • Cross Connection Letter - Will be mailed in a near future water bill mailing 
  • Discussion was held on new lighting for Main Street 
  • Citizens for Cullom have requested the closing of the corner of Hack and Oak Streets during the Celebration 
Meeting adjourned at 8:20 pm
