Village of Cullom Board of Trustees met Oct. 24.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

Mayor Hahn called the October 24, 2023 Regular Meeting of the Cullom Village Board to order at 7:00 p.m. at the Village Hall. 

Members Present: Hahn, Flessner, Mills, Jehle, Berens J. Meister, and K. Meister 

Also Present: Lovell 

Absent: Krause and Rock 

Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag: All present took part in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag 

Minutes: Motion to accept, by consent agenda, the September 26, 2023 Regular Meeting minutes was made by Jehle/Mills – M/C 

Public: None  

Attorney Report: Bill for services rendered has been sent to the village 

Maintenance Report: 

Results from the lead/copper sampling that was conducted on September 12, 2023 have been received from the IEPA. There was no lead detected in any of the samples and no exceedances in the copper reading 

The high service pump that has been sent to General Pump will be repaired when parts arrive hopefully received by December or January 

The last valve on line from the new water tower to the main has been installed. The next step will be chlorination of the new tower. Upon completion, the new tower will be switched to the village water supply and the old tower will be removed 

Clerk Report: Meister/Berens made the motion to pay the monthly bills totaling $125,831.57. This did not include the bill presented from aBETTERgreen ($495) for the Verkler reseeding. The board advised that Hahn talk to the village attorney about the bill. M/C by voice vote 

Treasurer Report: Mills/Meister made the motion to accept the Treasurer Report. 

Old Business: . 

Water Tower - See Maintenance Report. The completion date proposal will be sometime at the end of November 

Un-sewered Community Grant - Working on the report and getting ready to submit to the EPA 

Property Liens and Abandoned Properties - Ludwig has received the files from Gabor and will be looking at what the next steps should be 

Farm Property Sale - Sale has been completed 

S. Ash St. Extension - Tabled to the next meeting 

Iron Tank Application - Project bid should go out in January or February. Request that the new high service pumps be added to the project 

120 West Hack St Purchase - Sale has been completed 

MT Networks - Cell Tower Installation - No Report 

Street Light Replacement - No Report 

New Business: 

301 W Van Alstyne Street - Zoning - Tabled to the next meeting 

Village Zoning Map - Tabled to the next meeting 

Trespassing Golf Cart - Meister will address the issue with the residents driving the cart and those that had the trespassing issue 

Trees at 325 W Hack St - Meister/Jehle made the motion that Lovell will talk to the resident and offer to pay half of the expense of removing the trees due to the fact that they were planted by the resident on village property without village approval at the time of planting 

Any Other Business: 

Committee for the fiscal year will be as follows: 

Finance Krause, Mills and Jehle 

Ordinance Meister, Rock and Berens 

Levy - Will be addressed next month 

Audit - Has been given to the auditor 

Meeting adjourned at 8:15 pm
