The Illinois Wesleyan University baseball team has been awarded the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Team Academic Excellence Award, as announced by the organization on Wednesday, July 24. This marks the fifth consecutive year that the IWU baseball team has received this honor.
To qualify for the award, a team must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 during the 2023-24 academic year, and the head coach must be a current ABCA member. The organization recognizes programs at both high school and college levels. More than 470 collegiate programs earned this distinction.
Illinois Wesleyan was one of six College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin institutions to receive the award. Augustana College, Carroll University, North Central College, North Park University, and Wheaton College also achieved this recognition.
