Senior Macy Ludwig of Effingham, Illinois, has been named the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Golfer of the Week for the fourth time in her career. The announcement was made by the league office on Wednesday morning, September 11. Ludwig is the first Titan to receive this accolade this season.
Ludwig's recognition follows her record-setting performance at the Redbird Invitational hosted by Illinois State University. Competing in a field of 93 players, predominantly from Division I schools, Ludwig shot three consecutive rounds of even-par to achieve a 54-hole total score of 216. She placed fifth overall and was one of only four golfers to finish each round at par or better. In doing so, Ludwig broke the program's previous 54-hole scoring record of 218 set by Emma Thorman during the 2023 CCIW Championship.
Ludwig's efforts contributed significantly to Illinois Wesleyan University's success at the event. The eighth-ranked Titans outperformed three Division I teams—Indiana State, IU Indy, and Valparaiso—in a 12-team competition. Additionally, Illinois Wesleyan's 'B' team also surpassed Valparaiso with a combined score of 953.
The Titans will next compete in the IWU Fall Classic at Ironwood Golf Course on September 14-15. The tournament will commence each day with a shotgun start at 9 a.m.
