For the sixth time in her career and the second consecutive week, Illinois Wesleyan University women's golfer Macy Ludwig has been named the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Women's Golfer of the Week. The league office announced this recognition on Wednesday, September 18.
Ludwig led the Titans to a runner-up finish at the IWU Fall Classic held from September 14-15. The senior tied for second place individually in a field of 124 players. She carded rounds of one-over and one-under, posting a 36-hole total of even-par 144 on the par-72 Ironwood Golf Course. This performance marked Ludwig's 10th top-five finish in her career.
The Effingham, Illinois native has now earned this award each time the Titans have been eligible for it over the past four instances. Previously, she was named CCIW's awardee on April 17 and April 24 last spring. Notably, Ludwig and Katie Klosterman are the only Illinois Wesleyan women's golfers to earn this accolade in back-to-back weeks since 2013. Klosterman achieved this feat on September 11 and September 18, 2013.
The Green and White team will compete next at the UW-Whitewater Invite on September 22-23. The two-day tournament is set to take place at TPC Wisconsin in Madison.
