Following a recent conference championship win, the Illinois Wesleyan University women's golf team is preparing for the Golfweek October Classic in Destin, Florida. The tournament will take place over three days from October 15 to 17 at Baytowne Golf Course, located within the Sandestin Golf Resort.
The Titans, currently ranked No. 14, will compete against a field of 18 ranked teams. These include highly ranked teams such as No. 2 WashU, No. 3 Emory, and No. 5 Pomona-Pitzer. Other competitors are Carnegie Mellon (No. 7), St. Catherine (No. 8), Washington & Lee (No. 9), Methodist (No. 10), Centre (No. 13), UT-Dallas (No. 15), NYU (No. 16), Denison (No. 17), Sewanee (No. 18), Trinity (TX) (No. 19), Rhodes (No. 20), Carleton (No. 21), Mary Hardin-Baylor (No. 22), UW-Whitewater (No. 24), Berry, California Lutheran, Huntingdon, Oglethorpe, Ohio Northern, and Grinnell.
Representing IWU at the event will be seniors Emma Thorman from Macomb and Lexi Onsrud from Normal, along with juniors Macy Ludwig from Effingham, Jadyn Spinks from Bloomington, and Jacque O'Neill from Harbor Springs.
