Two members of the Illinois Wesleyan University women's golf team placed in the top-15 after the first day of competition at the Westbrook Invite, held at Westbrook Village Golf Club Lakes Course in Peoria, Arizona. The Titans ended the opening round on March 9 with a score of 10-over 294, placing them sixth among participating teams.
The current standings show Claremont Mudd Scripps leading with an even-par 284. George Fox follows closely, trailing by two strokes at 286, while Trinity (Texas) holds third place with a score of 287. Redlands and Emory complete the top five with scores of 289 and 290 respectively.
Junior Macy Ludwig from Effingham, Illinois tied for tenth place individually after scoring an even-par 71. Senior Emma Thorman from Macomb, Illinois is just one stroke behind her teammate, sharing thirteenth place with a score of one-over 72.
The final round is set to begin tomorrow, March 10, starting at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start.
