The Illinois Wesleyan University women's golf team participated in the first round of the Augustana (SD) Spring Fling, a NCAA Division II tournament held at Desert Willow Golf Resort in Palm Desert, California. The event took place on Thursday, March 14, and saw IWU finishing ninth with a score of 335.

Jacque O'Neill from Harbor Springs led the Titans with an opening round score of 82, placing her tied for 13th. Emma Thorman and Macy Ludwig both scored 84s, tying them for 28th alongside freshman Emily Gastrau who played as an individual.

Hawaii-Hilo leads the team standings with a score of 323. Dominican (Calif.) and Lubbock Christian are tied for second at 326. In the individual competition, Tia Kualli from Hawaii-Hilo and Molly Stevens from Augustana share the lead with scores of five-over-par 77.

The second round is scheduled for tomorrow, March 15, concluding IWU's spring break trip.
