The Illinois Wesleyan University women's golf team concluded their participation in the Golfweek October Classic with a commendable performance. The event took place in Sandestin, Florida, and saw the Titans secure a sixth-place finish among 24 competing teams.
Jadyn Spinks, a senior from Bloomington, Illinois, led her team by tying for seventh place. She completed the tournament four-over par with a total score of 220. Her teammate, Macy Ludwig from Effingham, Illinois, achieved the best round for the Titans with a three-under 69 on the final day, finishing 32nd overall.
Additional contributions came from Jacque O'Neill who posted a three-over 75 on the last day. Emily Gastrau and Kylie Hundman each finished with scores of four-over 76s in their final rounds.
WashU emerged victorious in the team competition with an overall score of 868 after a strong final round of 284. Carnegie Mellon and Emory followed closely in second and third places respectively. Zimo Li of Emory claimed individual medalist honors with scores that totaled to 210.
This tournament marks the end of Illinois Wesleyan's fall schedule. They are expected to resume competition in March.
